We’re currently developing a range of support services to help communities to move away from older and less efficient heating systems and to make low carbon heating more affordable.

Our aim is to make it easier for communities to adopt highly efficient low carbon technologies to reduce both their energy costs and their carbon emissions.

We are working to develop community wide solutions to reduce the barriers for people wanting to move away from older and less efficient heating systems, and to make low carbon heating more affordable.

Low carbon heat in rural areas

We have a special interest in supporting rural areas to transition to low carbon heat.

The reason that this is important is that:

  • Rural areas are likely to be the first in the UK that can’t replace their current oil or lpg boiler (from 2026).
  • As rural areas tend to be off the gas grid, they have fewer heating options, meaning many homes pay more for their heating.
  • Housing in rural areas is more dispersed and need a different solution to approach being taken in towns and cities.
  • Rural areas have more space and so are better placed to reduce energy bills using the latest heat pump technology combined with technologies like solar PV.

If your community would like to start making the transition, please get in touch so we can set up a project page for your community too.
